Is it just me, or is there something distinctly mesmerizing about being able to see one's own foot through a plastic strip of shoe? 

If I owned these bad boys, my brain would be constantly preoccupied thinking of things like, "There is a see-through strip on my shoe that makes my foot look like it's totally part of the shoe ... is that weird? ... That's totally weird" because I am obviously a child, and I can't seem to find a way to grow up and start ruminating on more important things like the greenhouse effect.

Also, I kind of enjoy the fact that these look about as sturdy as a tank and would be totally ready for anything you decide to put them through.

Kind of like Doc Martens ... or Captain America.
